Following up on Why do my Magic Books have scrollbars?!:
In early January Linden Lab promoted the "Alex Ivy" viewer with the scrollbar problem to the main viewer release as version 5.1.0.511732. That means if you're using the current Linden Lab viewer today, you're seeing scrollbars on the Magic Books.
As promised Linden Lab has fixed the scaling bug. The fix is available in a "MediaUpdate" viewer (version 5.1.1.512264), currently available as a beta download. I have no idea when the fix may make it into the standard viewer. However, if you're experiencing the scrollbar problem, the MediaUpdate viewer is one solution.
The popular third-party viewer Firestorm recently released version 5.0.11.53634; my fear was that Firestorm would integrate the Chromium component with the scaling bug. However, Firestorm is either ahead of or (less likely) a little behind the standard LL viewer: the current version of Firestorm does not exhibit the scrollbar problem. So that's another option. I don't know the status of other third-party viewers.
My "sit tight" plan is unchanged, but I'm still keeping an eye on things.
